DESIGN CONCEPT | PROJECT DESCRIPTION
"Knowing that your hometown will always have your back, even as you pursue your dreams in the big city, can provide a sense of comfort and support. Whether you succeed or not, there will always be a welcoming embrace waiting for you when you return home."
"#mykampung" is an affordable modular housing project designed to reflect the town's character, and provide returning villagers with a chance to reconnect with their roots while leading a comfortable and sustainable life. The project aims to create a sense of belonging for those who have left their villages in search of a better life and provide a sustainable living environment that is tailored to the needs of fishermen, promoting a return to traditional practices and a way of life that is in harmony with nature. The modular design of the housing units allows for flexibility and adaptability, enabling residents to customize their living space as needed. To foster a sense of community, the project includes a central courtyard with public spaces for social interaction, such as a fish drying area, serambi, community garden, and a ramp connecting each levels to provide easy access to all floors for elderly residents. The use of natural materials and a muted color palette evokes a sense of serenity and calm, while the incorporation of flood-resistant design features ensures the safety of residents during inclement weather.
